LNG / LGP

Overview

Natural gas (20°C). Combustible hydrocarbon gases such as ethane, propane, and butane (so-called “liquefied petroleum gases”), which are used for cooking or heating.

Liquefied natural gas, also known as LNG, is a fuel that is handled in liquid form. It is odorless, colorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive that is stored at around -162ºC to maintain its liquid form.

It is not a new fuel, as it has been safely handled for over 50 years, however it is not well known due to the challenge of handling it at such a low temperature.

In its liquid form, LNG is not combustible. When LNG changes from its liquid form to its gaseous form, these vapors become combustible when mixed with oxygen.
